Military Voting: Time to Get Election Ready
As Election Day draws closer, our friends at the Heroes Vote Initiative have developed the above video featuring veteran character actor and U.S. Marine veteran R. Lee Ermey urging service personnel to be “election ready” by registering to vote and requesting an absentee ballot. It’s a great cause that we support 100 percent.
While our military service members are stationed in far-flung places around the world defending our freedoms and rights, it’s a bitter irony that all too often, they’re unable to exercise their own most basic right to vote. Heroes Vote has been doing great work in drawing attention to the plight of our disenfranchised military voters, and helping to correct this injustice.
With National Military Voter Readiness Day slated for Saturday, September 15, we’re encouraging all our friends and fans to share this video with their networks on Facebook, Twitter and anywhere else you’re connected. Let’s stand up together on behalf of our men and women in uniform.
